nmap course lab setup

LAP SETUP:

Download virtual box and metasploitable vulnerable machine

virtualbox:

1.Goto https://www.virtualbox.org/ Download virtualbox  and install your computer

 

 

2. Click download button on left side

 

3. select your platform to click virtual box will be download

 

4. Your platform is linux to type this command

 

        dpkg i- (your download file)

 

5. After install open virtual box 

 

Metasploitable:

1. Goto https://information.rapid7.com/download-metasploitable-2017.html
   

 

 

2. click register now button

3. full your details and click submit button

 4. click download button to download

Lab setup steps:

1.Goto your download directory

 

2. Extract metasploitable-linux-2.0.0.zip file 

3.Open Metasploitable2-Linux folder

 

check all files 

4. open virtual box 

5.Click new button

6. Fill following details 

   1.name: metasploitable

   2.click type and select linux

   3.click version and select other linux 64bit

 

 

 7.click next

8. click next 

9. click use existing virtual hard disk file 

 

10. click folder button on right side

 

11.click Add button

 

12. Goto your metasploitable directory and select metasploitable.vmdk

 

13.click choose 

14 .click next

15. click finish

Config metasploitable

1.click settings

2.click network and click attached

 

3.change to bridged adapter and press ok

Start the machine:

1.Enter user name and password also msfadmin

 

 2. then type clear command

 

3. then find ip address of metaspolitable 

    type command ifconfig 

    then you will be scan nmap
